History:

I started training with the Hwa Rang Taekwondo Academy in 1998 because I was overweight and extremely unfit. After about 6 months of training I started to notice a huge change in my training and my studies. I started learning amazing self defence techniques and my self-confidence increased aswell.

When I started teaching Hwarangdo, I still was very shy and was not sure that I could do it, but under the supervision of one of my instructors, Shane Gavin, I learnt how to pass on the knowledge that he and Master Kim had shared, this was a trying task but a rewarding one.

I am now one of 2 instructors teaching Hwarangdo Ultimo, in Sydney CBD, where students learn both the sports/tournament way and the more traditional way of Hwarangdo. By having this class both myself and Tom Osborn (the other instructor at Ultimo) are able to instil the values of the Hwarang Warrior into the next generation: study hard, eat healthy, be loyal to your country, be loyal to your parents, be honest, always do your very best and at Ultimo we have a very important saying which goes "There is no such thing as I can't achieve it, there is only how can I achieve it".
